Prostate Heroes
Strength In Numbers. Support From Fellow Warriors.
Free Support Group. Are you in?
My own journey has had many ups and downs.
The dimensions of this diagnosis has seem so focused on masculinity, and sometimes even losing elements of that. But beyond everything else, this was just the heroes journey I needed - and, there is, maybe unexpectedly, even room for humor,
I envision this group as both light-hearted - and also heroically focused on the reality of this what this diagnosis means to each of us.
Many of you have asked me to create this, It seems that naturally prostate cancer brothers in my community have connected with me, and we have shared the challenges we have experienced, and also shared our own research and resources.
So, now’s the time. This complementary support group will be based on the work of BEing Healing, and specifically the Radical Remissions training I have been certified in, but I’m not facilitating this group so much as also participating in this as another brother…one who received new medical news just recently.
This group is for you if:
You have had a diagnosis of prostate cancer, and are considering decisions, and would like collective knowledge.
You have been on this journey for awhile, and are looking for knowledge and support.
You have had a past diagnosis, and are in a watchful waiting phase, and wish to share your courage, strength and hope.
Some Details
This group’s operative word will be courage, and powerful collective support.
Our format will allow everyone to share, and I will be focusing the group to be solution oriented, while allowing space for honest expression.
I will be basing our format generally on 12 step meetings, in terms of confidentiality, ground rules, and inclusion and respect.
Here is what you can expect from this group:
Strong coaching to be your own researcher and advocate with your treatment choices. We will be hitting the ground running researching the newest (and sometimes archival) studies collectively.
Brothers listening with respect to the most challenging aspects of how this is showing up in your life. Empathy rather than sympathy.
Support in reframing everything in a healing and positive light, no matter how challenging the situation may seem.
Support in integrating the 10 factors of Radical Remission into your life, and tracking these factors to create a powerful healing lifestyle.
